    Watering the Daisies

In case you’re wondering I haven’t put this thread in the wrong sub-forum. I’m having a bit of a rant. 😞😞

Every time we go on holiday in the caravan it rains, even when the forecast says it won’t. So we go prepared. Wellies, woolly jumpers and wine.

But it this time, joy of joys, the heatwave is set to stay with us, everyone agreed. So why is it flippin’ well raining! 😨

And guess which two essentials we didn’t bring!!!!!!

Now the weather forecast is talking about hurricane Chris, possible flash floods and back to our normal wet summers.

    It’s a good job I can’t do graphics on my phone. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

When I was little & holidayed in a static caravan I loved listening to the rain on the tin roof. Hope it stops soon for you & the sun shines.

Daisy I am going to see if I can conjure up a spell to bring your rain over to me for my poor dry garden

Please be aware that this procedure is only done on the understanding that it only applies to light summer rain, thunderstorms, heavy rain or strong winds will not be accepted as they will be returned to the sender !

Is there some kind of dance ritual you do when you go away that’s similar to a rain dance , if so STOP !!!!!

Ladies, we're back home, and can I just say a huge 'thank you' to Mimi's magic spell. It worked a treat, and by evening the sun was polishing most of the clouds away.

However, the weather paled in to insignificance later in the day!

It was just after 5 o'clock, and OH and I were sitting outside enjoying a glass of wine, and planning what to do the next day. Eva had just had her dinner and was stretched out at our feet when there was a sudden loud explosion! At first I thought it was someone taking a pop shot at the rabbits in the adjoining field, but then we heard a hissing sound and turned round to see our blow-up awning had exploded!!!! One of the 4 inflated pillars was ripped to shreds at the bottom, and the whole thing was deflating. We quickly shut off the valves so it didn't totally collapse, and surveyed the damage.

The inner tube, made of thick polythene, was split open, as was the tough fabric outer shell of the pillar, and the awning fabric itself also had a large tear in it. We don't think we can blame the heat (it was quite cool, and that side of the awning was actually in shade), and we had set the pressure to the mid-point recommended by the manufacturers. We took the battered remains to a caravan and camping dealers the next day, and he said he has heard of it happening before, but not often! We're hoping it can be repaired!

Other than that, we have had a lovely relaxed time, and all your efforts kept the rain away - we've had glorious sunshine - even OH wore shorts.

                              Oh dear!!!!!
                              I bet that was scary.
I'm glad however that the rain stayed away the rest of the time Daisy, and you had a good time
