I think it’s ridiculous that you have to take your glasses off, and when you go in the electronic booth you take them off and can’t see what you’re doing! I always feel Very vulnerable without my specs on. Obviously sunglasses are a no no but corrective glasses should be allowed I think!

You have to take your glasses off because the electronic scanning equipment needs a clear view of your eyes. There is distortion (correction) in the lenses as well as inevitably shadows cast by the frames. Changing your hairstyle or having a tan doesn't matter - as long as your hair is off your face when you have the photo taken that's ok.

I remember once photographing a teenager whose mum absolutely insisted he smiled, even though I explained it would be rejected. She just didn't believe me!
