    First outing this year

What with one thing and another, we haven't yet had our first caravan holiday of the year. What with OH being poorly for such a long time, and then DS2 moving house and needing a lot of decorating doing, we don't seem to have had much time. But the weather has been so awful until recently, we weren't too worried.

But now the itch has to be scratched! We're off on Wednesday to Lyme Regis. It's a site we've used before and liked, even though the stunning views that were advertised were hidden in thick mist and fog! Hopefully this time it will be better. It also has an indoor pool and two good dog exercise areas, plus one of the best curries I've ever had, delivered from a mobile curry place. OH and I can go for a swim together because they allow you to leave dogs in your caravan. Most places don't allow this and I can understand why if your dog starts barking and disturbing everyone else. But Eva just goes to sleep, no trouble at all.

We have to be back home on Sunday because we've got visitors arriving in the afternoon, but we're really looking forward to our little break!

Daisy, you are overdue for a break . I hope you, OH and Eva have a lovely time 😊

Isn't Lyme Regis where The French Lieutenant's Woman was set? I thought it beautiful and really wanted to go there!

Gem, yes, I think it was. It also has Jane Austin connections, and as it's on the Jurassic coast it's popular with fossil hunters. I believe the golf course is very good, too.

I am so jealous Daisy I really need a break but we are all still on tender hooks awaiting for second baby to arrive and helping with DGD in law with new baby she has been taken back in hospital with problems after the birth so we are looking after GGD for them.
We have a week away booked in Majorca for September which seems ages away I am trying to find a City Break for DD & I before then its just her getting time off work as she is so busy at present.
            Enjoy your time away. xxx

Good to hear you are going to get away Daisy, just a change of scene. Been to Lyme Regis several times, very hilly. Site sounds very ideal.

Daisy I really hope that you & OH enjoy your break & have good weather. I loved the caravan hols we had when we were children. The site sounds ideal.

Gem - many thanks. to be honest, I'll be pleased if it just stays dry for us, sun would be a bonus.

That looks lovely Daisy. We used to take our caravan to a park near Charmouth, it could almost be the same one. The children loved it there and we could walk into Charmouth and visit the fossil shop. Have a great time.

Enfys - it could be the same site - it's close to Charminster and LR.
