National Trust, English Heritage or Historic Houses?

Do you have membership of any of these?

Friends of ours belong to both, they buy one with Tesco points and ask family to buy the other as a gift. They have lots of days out (retired, no parents, and grandchild duties only on some of the school holidays, none in term time) For them it is worth it, but for us, with all my weekly commitments and OH's golf, we don't know if it would be.
I am tempted to join one of them however, as it would make us go to more places when we are free at the same time.
Some other friends are trying to persuade us to join Historic Houses, which they belong to, so we can go places with them. It is £75 for the two of us, and I'm just not sure we will get our money's worth!

We have the same debate every now and then but haven’t done anything about it so far.

I am a member of the National Trust, we had a joint membership before my OH died. I also belong to a National Trust local group. Used to belong to English Heritage but didn't use it much. I got our tickets for the bus on the IOWight reduced as I was a NT member.

We dithered about the National Trust for ages but took the plunge about 3 years ago. We have a few NT places near us and it does make us go out and see different things. We also have coastal sites where you can use the car park for free. I think it depends on your commitments and how many of their sites are nearby but we have certainly got our money’s worth. Our local NT house, Kingston Lacey, charges £13.60 for the house and gardens. So when we add up how many times we go during the year it’s well worth it. Beautiful walks and always something different to see.

I've often thought about joining the NT, but don't think we'd use it enough to justify it. I'm an RHS member which gives you free entry into their own gardens and a lot of partner gardens, and that probably works better for us because we can take the dog to most of them.

For some reason most historic houses and palaces aren't keen on doggy visitors!!

Enfys - Kingston Lacey is lovely. On my bucket list this year is Monttisfont Abbey for the roses.

Mottisfont is beautiful when the roses are out. We go every year, the smell is amazing. 🌹🌹🌹

Plant and Enfys - I really, really must go this year! It's not far from us, so no excuse. By the time we get back from our little caravan jaunt I will have missed the best of Exbury, so I'll need a 'fix' of roses instead.
