    Lemon curd

I love lemon curd and my mother used to make a really delicious recipe.

I've never tried making it myself, and I'm usually slightly disappointed with the bought stuff. But I've just tried Thursday Cottage Lemon Curd and it's absolutely yummy!

I could probably eat a whole jar in one go - but will try not to.

Oh I love lemon curd! I’ve never made it either Daisy. I’ve never heard of this make before. I’ll see if Sainsbury’s have it. Divine on toast.

Oooh yum! I have made it before but as I’m the only one to eat it it’s not a good idea!
I have looked at Thursday Cottage and I must say their recipes using their products look scrumptious.

We can,t buy it here, but, when DS1 was in the UK for his work he never returned home without his lemon curd! We did have M&S n Den Haag but that closed a couple of years ago.

I ordered it from Milk & More, but I think Holland & Barrett sell it too.

My mil made lemon curd, it didn't keep for long and you had to keep it in the fridge.

Plant - it was the same with my mother's, but I never put its keeping qualities to the test!!

I think it is much easier to make than jam.

When my children were young we lived in Farnham. We had an elderly neighbour (who adopted my children as her surrogate grandchildren.) On Christmas Day she would get up early and make lemon curd. She would come over with croissants and a jar of (warm) lemon curd. We would all enjoy breakfast together and she would watch the children open their presents. It has become a bit of tradition to have lemon curd and croissants for breakfast on Christmas morning.

I've been trying to find my mum's recipe, but no luck so far! (FQ - I haven't forgotten about the gluten-free bread recipe but haven't had chance to ask DIL2 yet. x)
