I remember him for Saturday nights TV . First there was Sunday night at the London Palladium ( mum and dad let me stay and watch occasional, after all it was school the next day ) , then there was The Generation Game, and not forgetting Strictly, he was my Saturday/Sunday night entertainment for a huge part of my life.
R.I. P Bruce x
I've been a huge fan of Brucie's for many years. I first saw him on stage long before he was famous (I think I was about 16) and he had that gift for carrying the audience along with him - singing, dancing, playing the piano, gently teasing everybody. He made it look easy.
I always thought it was a bit ironic that he made his name compere-ing other people, many of whom had less talent than him, and doing game shows. One of the best bits of tv ever, in my opinion, was an interview he did with Sammy Davis Jnr, when he was doing a sort of 'Parky' show. I can't remember what it was called, but if I can find a link, I'll post it.
RIP Brucie - you will be sadly missed.

I expected something like this to happen soon as he looked very frail when I saw a pic in the paper a few weeks ago.He raised such a lot for The Varity Club and will never be forgotten for his clean sence of humour.
