She was a great character actress and I bet all us Northerners (and maybe Southerners as well!) knew someone like her Hilda Ogden character. RIP Jean.

My late MIL sat next to her on a coach going somewhere in France. I doubt MIL ever watched a single soap and had no idea who she was. She said she was a very interesting lady and a great companion on such a long journey. She found out who she was from another passenger after JA got off the coach. Apparently she was going to visit John Nettles and discuss voice overs. Perhaps like MIL she had a phobia about air travel.xxComment
