Oh no. Such very sad news. I was very concerned yesterday when I heard all his family were at his bedside. He was a very special man who will go down in history. R.I.P.

I feel so sad and tearful about this. Why couldn't he die peacefully at home at 101?He did so much to help, it's totally unfair that he should die from covid

It's a sad day for the whole Nation, isn't it. He captured everyone's hearts with his twinkly eyes and sense of humour, as well as his epic fund raising. For me he will go down as one of the very few people who really deserved his honour from the Queen.

              RIP Sir Tom
