Actually, I think that's a bit sad that there was no-one close enough to him to inherit, or he didn't think about the good work his fortune could do for others - animals or humans.
He always had a very distinctive 'look' and I always wonder what motivates people to make themselves stand out by the way they dress etc. I think he will be remembered as the designer who 'saved' the House of Chanel.
