    Pete Stringfellow

Sad to hear Pete Stringfellow had died age 77 , I knew him personally back in the 70s he opened a nightclub in Leeds called Cinderella Rockefella . I once asked him to play a record I had bought an unusual one no one had heard of, and he had the same one so every time I went to the club he played it. He was a naughty boy not perfect by any means but always a gentleman to talk to RIP Pete

Qwerty - I have moved this thread to Obits - it just keeps everything together.

He must have been an interesting guy to have known, especially in those early days before he moved to London. RIP

Nanto - don't feel you can't post something. It's fine. I gather he had a battle with lung cancer which he kept very quiet about.

Sad to hear of PSs death he seemed to be a likeable bloke, from what I hear he was very good to his employee's and would take no messing from customers who didn't respect his female staff. RIP Peter.

              RIP.
He always seemed full of fun whenever you saw him interviewed.

In my teens I went to one of his early Clubs called The Mojo Club. I stayed overnight at a friends & went to the Club without anyone knowing. I remember there were pillars in the Club. Word got round that the man himself had turned up. Would you believe I climbed up the pillar to see him. He was a character to be sue. RIP Pete.
