    The new Prince is named!

Our newest baby Prince has been named. Louis Arthur Charles is the choice.

I prefer Louis to Arthur or Charles, so I'm happy

I suggested that name to OH and he just poo-pooed it! After Lord Mountbatten I presume.Still no mention of Kate's Dad or is he in George's names?
Believe you can and you're halfway there.

If you look back on Glamma's Kate In Labour thread, I mentioned Louis a few days ago

I think it's a good choice. It's hard enough choosing a name for any baby, but it must be 100 times harder for a royal prince or princess! It's a good choice.

What a really good choice I like it very much its really modern for the monarchy don't you think ? they tend to go for the more formal names,I did give it some thought when looking at the odds a few days ago but dismissed it,maybe I will get it right when they have baby no.4 ? Can't complain can I as the little Princess is my namesake and she was born on my Johns 70th birthday so we have something in common.
I have to just get my head around the name DIL has chosen for their baby girl due soon but I am keeping tight lipped about that !! needless to say my son has had no input in the chosen name.

I like it and obviously Lord Mountbatten was Louis, my money was on Arthur.

Sum1, sadly I don't think he'll be brought up to be bi-lingual though.

Choosing names is not easy but much harder for the royals I would guess. My sister in law chose unusual names but they became mainstream not long after, much to her disgust.

My cousin tells me the Queen and Princess Ann speak impeccable French so I’m sure it will be part of his education,

I've heard the Queen speaking French, and I'm sure it must be the French equivalent of English RP. I didn't know Princess Anne was also fluent.
