Hurricane Ophelia

    Hurricane Ophelia

Both the North and South of Ireland seem to be in the gripe of the tail end of Ophelia, and it seems as though parts of West Wales are also in the firing line.

Here the sky is a strange yellow colour - I'm not sure whether it's from the Saharan dust clouds or an imminent storm. The temperature's dropping, too.

    Stay safe everyone! x

Daisy it's VERY windy here in S Wales though the sun is shining at the moment.
I noticed that eerie yellow colour this morning. It felt like it did before the eclipse we had a few years ago. A bit creepy.

Everything is a funny colour here. I found it very unnerving when we went out earlier. I have to go out now for GS1 though. No choice

It has been odd here as well. Looking out of one window the sky is sludgy and makes the sitting room sort of glow slightly orange. Looking out of the kit hen window the sky is grey with a silver halo. All told it is very dark and I think it is going to storm tonight, the trees are bending already, thank goodness we had those big trees cut down from our garden otherwise if it is a strong storm they may have ended up in the roof!

The strange colour according to the weather men on tv,is due to dust being blown from the Sahara by Ophelia, and also Ophelia is blowing debris up our way from the wildfires in Portugal.

It was so dark earlier but the sun is out and we have blue skies. Very windy though.

It was very weird, and eerie.
A branch fell onto my windscreen on my way home.
However compared to the poor people in Ireland who are badly affected (and 3 killed ) we can't complain.

Gem - that must have been frightening. Did the windscreen shatter? I do hope not. Acorns bouncing on the roof are bad enough!

No, no cracks as far as I can see, it just gave me a shock! More so as at that precise moment, on the news the man was telling everyone In Ireland to stay indoors, and I had just heard about the fatalities.

We have a taste of Brian this week but we must not grumble the poor people in the west have suffered.
