Another tragedy, the attack on Las Ramblas. 13 killed,up to 80 injured.
When we were there nearly 2 years ago, we stayed in a hotel on Las Ramblas. In fact our hotel was next to the police station.
Fortunately police stopped another attack in Cambrils.
Who knows when or where it will happen again.

As many of you probably have, I have walked down Las Ramblas, and can imagine how scary and awful this was.

Feeling a bit anxious my GS1 is going to work near Barcelona for a week and his partner and baby are going too just for the weekend. but feel that it will be fine as the security will be very heightened.

Apparently they were warned of possible terrorist attack 2 months ago, but how can anyone tell when or where it will happen?

I fear the death toll will rise as time goes on. Las Ramblas has been more pedestrianised over the years but clearly traffic can get near. One of the biggest tourist areas in Barcelona too, in the height of summer, I've been there a few times it's a beautiful street

When will it ever end such mindless tragic killings of innocent people who just set out for a days work or a stroll whilst on their holidays my heart goes out to them,Plant the security will be top notch so don't be worried I have to give Spanish Police their due they take no prisioners when it comes to attacks like this people travelling away this weekend may find longer than normal security checks but that just can't be helped can it.

Sadly its almost impossible to stop that kind of attack . Personally if I was in one of those big city's that seem to targeted I wouldn't give a thought as to if there could be an attack but if my family or friends suggest they are going to somewhere like that I would be very worried indeed

It really is awful that other human beings can be so twisted and evil that they inflict such horrific attacks. You wonder where it will all end, but Mimi's right - I think we have to carry on with our daily lives. If we avoid areas where we think there might be trouble these monsters are winning. When we were in London recently and walking over Westminster Bridge we felt very reassured by all the anti-terrorist measures, but we can't barricade everywhere and I'm sure we wouldn't want to.

The solution has to be to stop these people being radicalised to do such wicked things, but with the internet etc it's hard to stamp out the propaganda put out by the fanatics.

The missing boy has been found unfortunately he has died , if I heard correctly he died 3 days after the event I didn't catch where he had been so sad rip little one

It's heartbreaking to see the smiley faces of innocent little children on the news and hear what's happened to them. You can't imagine what their families are going through.
