    The Election Result

We seem to be back in the political wilderness with our leaders having to make some big decisions very quickly.

I definitely don't want to start the sort of discussion along the lines of 'my party's opinions/policies are better than yours', but I don't think we can ignore the current political news entirely. So if you have any thoughts you'd like to share, please feel free.

Perhaps GRU should be forming the next Government - what would be your flagship policies?

Well, yes, what a state! Hung parliament maybe a coalition, but with who??
Tories in the lead, but TM must regret her decision to have this election. Labour didn't win, but the feeling is one of jubilation, as so many seats were gained.

I have to nail my colours to the mast as lifelong mostly Labour, and sometimes Liberal and later LibDem supporter. Despite coming from a Conservative family (parents very active on the local Conservative party for years) I would rather poke my eyes out with a stick than vote for them!
I feel they do not represent me in any way.

Very proud of my littlest DD, who canvassed for the Labour party and received a multi pack of Aeros from one householder Also nice comments and no one nasty to her.

I'm sure we have many differing vies on here, and I'm equally sure we can all respect each others, no matter how much we may differ

And yes, Daisy, GRU would make a better parliament than any of them

Well for what its worth I don't favour either , I think we stuck between the Devil and the deep blue sea with both sides , They both have good and bad points making it very hard to come down on one side ,
Wouldn't it be nice to have another party that could hold its own in all this a fresh start to a government but sadly we don't ,
Either party are going to do as they want and ignore the ordinary people anyway , I don't have faith in either one of them .
T M will close the boarders but Privatise everything
JC is a IRA sympathiser and will open the boarders to every one ( bad move) but he will help the less fortunate
So all in all I don't like either .
JUST MY OPINION so I wont argue on it with anyone , everyone has their own view and I respect that
Im not fat just 6ft too small

The only comment I will make is that the majority of the Scots do not want another referendum, hope Nicola Sturgeon takes note.

At the moment, I feel very worried about the future, and I agree with Oma that neither the Devil nor the deep blue sea appeal to me. I hate to see the NHS and Education in the state they're in and don't think either should ever be political footballs, but they are. Ideally I'd like there to be enough money to care for all those who need it, but I've been in business all my life and understand that you can't live life on borrowed money and a lot of our country's wealth comes from its financial services. If we make it too hard for business to do business it will go elsewhere. It's a delicate balancing act, and then of course, there's Brexit. A good outcome there could drive prosperity for us all.

I hope wisdom and common sense drive the decisions which will be made today and in the coming weeks.

We need a government who will not argue amongst themselves and take a strong stance on law and order but unfortunately no such party exists . As Oma has said we are stuck between the devil and the deep blue sea

I agree with you Mimi, all the prime ministers we have had for the past few years, are too soft.

Put GRUS in parliament and we will soon sort things out.

I agree that we need a stronger hand at the helm but can't think of anyone amongst the present crowd who would be up for the job. I'm afraid I don't trust or believe any of them at the moment....I really struggled when it came to putting my cross on the ballot paper and just had to go with my gut instinct. I think TM well and truly shot herself in the foot!
