Oma, it keeps everything working, especially with young children. After a day of being a racehorse, building a castle, playing games, making meals, doing washing going for walks, answering loads of questions etc, etc, I always felt I'd had a pretty thorough work out! It was great though.

I started looking after my son’s and Dil’s son when he was about 4 months old. Dil was working on the Esther Ransom’s That’s Life Show. I think that is why we are close. I used to fetch them, he and his brother, from nursery then from school and feed them.

That's true, Nanto, but I also love the relationship I've got with my grown-up GSs and my now teenage GDs. As for great-grand children, I can only hope.

I miss having little people in the house but as you say Daisy at the end of the day your exhausted,
I remember sitting watching children's programmes long after they went home , we were to tired to move and always had half hour in silence before we did anything 😁

I would love to hold a new baby again 😍

Oma, I can picture the scene. You and B slumped in front of Postman Pat still clutching a teddy bear and a Matchbox bus! But many happy memories, I'm sure. xx

We were lucky Oma. I was thinking that having a chat with our GS2 this weekend. He'd just heard he's got a new job, and is so excited about it. It made me think about when he was a little boy and he got excited and would always want to tell you all about it.

I think we are all so lucky to have our grandchildren, and all the times over the years spent with them.

I feel fortunate that all mine live close enough for me to have looked after them all regularly from being babies.

I had the GD's from a few weeks old, 2 days a week, they often slept here, GD2 always said that she had 2 homes!! They both had their own rooms, when they come here they always say "in my room"!! I was still picking GD2 up from school to eat here when the lockdown stopped it all!! I did miss it, but, they grow older, I do see them often, I have a neighbour on the second floor , she has 7 grandchildren!!

In fact I have 3 "bonus" great grandchildren, I don't see them very often. GS2 does see them as his grandchildren, that is a good thing.
