That's sad news. She was interviewed on tv quite recently, but I had no idea of her age.

RIP Patricia, and thank you for your wonderful portrayal of Mrs Bucket.

We were not fans of Keeping Up Appearances, sorry ladies.

            R.I.P. Patricia.

Nanto, my OH didn't enjoy Keeping up Appearances either, while I loved it. Patricia Rutledge's character was hugely exaggerated, but she was such a brilliant actress that I found it very entertaining.

Daisy , I have to admit although I am fully aware of the programme I have never actually watched it! My mum loved it:

Gem, one of the aspects I liked is that Patricia's character was a monster. Yet there was often some tendency I could see in a lot of people, those who had to have things just perfect, or would soldier on through thick and thin even though everything was going catastrophically wrong. The programme's title said it all, really, Mrs Bucket never gave up.

I have just listened to Patricia Routledge performing ‘I went to a Marvelous Party’.
                      Wonderful !
