    Local headlines

It isn't often our little village makes headlines, but a Domino's huge lorry has crashed quite spectacularly into a local resident's garden. Fortunately no serious injuries, but what a shock for the home owner to find pizza they hadn't ordered in their back garden this morning. The road was closed and it's caused traffic chaos - the College is behind the trees on the right, and it's the through road from north to south, so very busy.

      Good heavens Daisy!!

Yes there are lots of Dominoes over here Lizzie. There is a branch opening in our village! I doubt it will be very successful as we have a wonderful small local pizza takeaway business here.

Gem, I hope people in your village stay faithful to the small private business. Where DS2 lives there are franchise fast foods opening all the time. They often don't last long, probably because the franchisee isn't very experienced, but even so they must hit the local businesses to some extent.

Thank goodness no serious injuries but very inconvenient for the road users and a shock for the house owners.

Clover, yes it must have been an awful shock having that land in your back garden. I've got a friend who lives opposite that house, and I bet she got a rude awakening as well.

It was not far off the house mind you.
Can you imagine the noise it made ,
                At least no serious injuries.

Oma, yes, just thankful there were no serious injuries, and it was too early for college students to be around. Two hours later that road would have been packed with students walking down from the station to the college, plus all the cars waiting to turn into the car parks. It doesn't bear thinking about.
