Poor man has been ill for so long yet still did his bit yesterday.

Just watching the news, he has been very poorly. No Catholics here, my sister, no longer with us, was a convert.

Sad news, especially after appearing yesterday to give an Easter blessing. He did look very frail.

Francis was a good man, compassionate and caring and seeing that the church is there for everyone, inclusive, not exclusive. He had no time for pomp and fuss and lived simply - actions that were stronger than words.

I do hope his successor will continue his work.

Sum1, I totally agree. Although I'm not a Catholic, I felt he truly was a man of God who cared.

As you say, hopefully his successor will be chosen to follow his example.

Same here Daisy ,
Not a believer but he was a humble man who came from humble beginnings and never forgot the little people of the world who didn't have a voice or the means to better themselves.
I have been reading about how he had a good cheeky sense of humour and loved football.
Hopefully his successor as you say follows his example.
