It must be causing chaos. Can you imagine what it must be like for air traffic control staff having to divert hundreds of flights, and the ground staff will need endless patience to cope with all the upset, angry and bewildered passengers whose flights have been cancelled.
Gem, at least your friends have been diverted in the "right" direction. I hope they get a train easily.

Our friends are home Daisy, thank. They are an unusual and fortunate case as they both worked for Network Rail before retirement and continue to have free rail travel.
