    The Awards Season

I never pay much attention to all the media hype about various awards for actors, musicians etc but from seeing odd snippets on tv and online this year I've been struck by a few of things.

    1. How I've never heard of most of them (not surprising given my general lack of interest in films etc)

    2. How all the promotion of healthy body weights hasn't reached any of the females on the red carpets. They all look in need of an extra lettuce leaf or two. What worries me is how this affects young girls who think this is how they "should" look.

    3. Has the fashion world gone mad, ie madder than usual. Almost every dress being worn looks more like an instrument of torture designed to let you freeze if you step outside, prevent you from sitting down, or breathing, and as for visiting the Ladies - I couldn't possibly comment!

Millie Bobby Brown, Mikey Madison and Timothée Chalamet were among the stars posing for pictures.

It's the ones who turn up in their underwear that gets me,
Surely there should be a dress code and these women/ girls should have more dignity.
They try to out do each other in these silly dresses ,
Mind you some men are no better with their outrageous suits .
I agree with not knowing who half of them are ,
If I see someone I have to Google them.
I watch films but never remember names and I never watch the awards ,
It's just what I see on my news feeds.

      I agree with all that!

We tend not to watch Awards ceremonies as they go on too long, and as we have often not seen the films or programmes involved it's boring.

I must confess to recording soap awards as we watch 3 of the soaps, and can fast forward ads and boring bits!

Daisy, I agree with you, I don't know any of them, I did see them on the news, as you say about the "thin" part, there is thin and thin! If the young girls of today hope to look like that they will all be starving!

As for the fashion, it seems to be about who can show the most!!

The ladies look as if they need a good feed and someone to dress them. There seems to be a competition who can wear the ugliest, ridiculous costume.
