I've just been reading a news item about how fewer people were out shopping for bargains in Boxing Day/Winter sales. One retail expert suggested that "Boxing Day has lost its shine" as fewer people queue up early to grab bargains as soon as the shops open. In fact, more shops than ever are not even opening on Boxing Day for a variety of reasons, but mainly the increased costs of paying overtime etc.
It's predicted that online spending will be higher than the 63.9% spent in 2023.
Do you still visit "The Sales" or do you find you can find discounts and promotions more easily online these days?
I can remember many many years ago when I'd go to the Sales looking for bargains among the clothes that were too expensive to buy full price at other times - things like smart suits for work, or expensive boots and shoes.
