Cyclone hits the island of Mayotte

The worst cyclone to hit this poverty-stricken island for 90 years, with devastating loss of life.

There are growing concerns about food and water supplies after Cyclone Chido hit the French island in the Indian Ocean.

I've seen this on the news over the past couple of day. Absolutely tragic.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

It made me think of the devastation when huge earthquakes hit Haiti in 2010 and again in 2021. An exceptionally poor country with most people living in homes that weren't able to withstand earthquakes, and the relief organisation were unable to respond quickly or effectively.

Oma, I agree. It's too awful to comprehend really.
