    The Grenfell Report

After seven long years the Grenfell inquiry has published its findings in a 1,700-page report.

Shockingly, there were so many damming and dangerous decisions made at every stage from the design and construction of the tower block to the emergency responses on the day of the horrific fire. The inquiry has published a "web of blame" and it is frightening to see how many opportunities to improve fire safety were ignored.

A damning final 1,700-page report into the tower block fire sets out a chain of failures.

Unfortunately, the report won't bring back any of the victims.

I remember this happening like it was yesterday. It doesn't seem like 7 years ago.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Nato, that's the awful reality - it won't bring back the poor victims.

Let's hope lessons have been learnt and nothing like this tragedy ever happens again.

Two other block fires in the last week , lessons have not been learned,
Luckily I don’t think there were any casualties in the recent ones , but can you imagine the panic of the residents when these fires broke out.

No matter what the findings those families are without their loved ones and nothing no one and no amount of compensation can undo that.

Oma, that's the tragedy of it all - and the facts that there must be hundreds of families living in tower blocks with the same dangerous materials. It's evil that everything comes down to money - cheap materials, unsuitable for purpose, shoddy workmanship, lack of plain good old common sense, emergency procedures not understanding the urgency/gravity of a situation and everything else.

I'm sure lessons will be learnt, but putting other buildings right will take donkey's years.
