This is the day a lot of business aim to get their sales into the 'black' and judging by the 70+ emails I've deleted this morning I can see there are 'offers' on just about everything.
On the other hand there is a growing movement of people who want an eco-friendly alternative - Green Friday - and turn their phones/lap tops off and get out into the countryside or beach and enjoy the great outdoors for the day.
It seems to me that the hype for Black Friday gets more intense every year, and I wonder if this year in particular it puts people under pressure to spend more than they can really afford. I feel sorry for families with stretched budgets who have children who are trying to keep up with friends for the latest must-have toy, or trainers or clothes.
What do you all think? Is it an opportunity to get a genuine bargain, or pressure to spend, spend, spend?
