    Ukraine

The news from Ukraine this morning is frightening, sad and shocking. I hope all the NATO countries and other countries around the world do everything they can to restore peace, but tragically, I don't think it will happen overnight.

It's heartbreaking to see the news pictures of people fleeing to Poland and safety.

Daisy it's absolutely heartbreaking, not to mention frightening

Trump is the biggest idiot ever, no wonder he thinks that.

Spoke to my DS last night and he said the mood in Slovakia is tense to say the least. He says he's never been so close to a war zone before and he is quite worried. Friends of his have family in Ukraine who are trying to get to Slovakia and DS has offered his flat to them if they do manage to get there. I imagine he'll go and stay with one of his exes!

A friend of his is organising emergency supplies in one of the villages.

It is a very worrying situation for all of us. I see today, Putin is threatening to use atomic weapons because the invasion is not going to plan and he doesn't want to be seen as weak by not having crushed the Ukranians. I hope it doesn't come to that.
Believe you can and you're halfway there.

WeeGranny I do hope your DS's friend's family make it to Slovakia safely. It's very kind of your DS to offer them his flat. I think the whole world must be worried about a mad man having access to the red button. It's terrifying, sad and unbelievable that one man can have so much power.
