I am sure he will get the best care possible.

I was talking with my nieces last night about him ,
I said if he was to go after all he was done it would be better for him to go in his sleep peacefully in his own bed than in a hospital ,
I do hope he gets home ,
There was a lady not so long ago who at 106 had come through Covid TWICE so there is hope for Sir Tom .

Poor Captain Tom. This is VERY sad news. Life sometimes, is so unfair. Let’s hope he makes a full, speedy recovery.

Tonight's news was that he was having help with his breathing but, thank goodness, wasn't in intensive care.

Come on, Sir Tom - the whole country is willing you to get better. xx

I think it’s such a shame Sir Tom is ill, and I wish him a speedy recovery. However, I do wonder if his family’s decision to fly to Barbados for Christmas was a good idea, bearing in mind his age and the health implications.

Enfys - I have wondered the same thing. I read somewhere that the flights were a gift from British Airways. If so, perhaps slightly misguided.

I was really surprised that his family thought it was a good idea!

Its now reported that his family are with him ,
A lot of people are upset that they are allowed into the Hospital where others with dying loved ones are not .

I can see their point of view regardless of my admiration for this fine man .

I thought the same Enfys I didn't think considering current climate that they made the right call here going abroad , but then again I don't know the circumstances surrounding it , still a bad choice and understandable the backlash of it all .
