PIERS Morgan led celebrations today after 99-year-old war veteran Captain Tom Moore smashed his huge fundraising target - hours after the TV star donated £10,000 of his own money.
The WWII hero had been marching up and down his garden hoping to raise half a million pounds for the NHS but was nearly £200,000 short before his appearance today.
Tom Moore is a true hero , he is walking around his garden with the aid of his walking frame. He hopes to achieve a 100 laps before his 100th birthday at the end of the month which he is doing while trying to raise money for the NHS . What a wonderful man , he makes me feel rather humble. He isn't complaining about having to stay at home , he is just getting on with it .
