I've just been reading an article that says that top influencers can earn over £1,600 for a sponsored photo post. Has the world gone mad!

Does anyone need a social influencer .
After all isn’t that what tv and magazine adds are .
Am I right in thinking that companies pay these ‘influencers ‘ to promote their goods and services. Best of luck to them I suppose if it earns them a way of life but why don’t people who follow these influencers to actually make their own decisions in life and not just blindly be led like sheep .

Mimi - I agree. Why would you buy something just because someone like Rita Ora "has" it. There are people though, who are not famous for anything other than their blogs, like Zoella.

I know of someone who is a highly qualified medical professional who makes YouTube videos about his hobby. It was just for fun originally and now he earns more from his videos than he does from the day job. It's a strange world we live in.

Plant - exactly, but the You Tubers make videos about whatever and if they attract enough hits advertisers will start paying them and they earn so much per 'click'. I think that's how it works. When some of them attract hundreds of thousands of views even a small amount per click adds up to a tidy sum.
