People seem to be giving little boys dogs names a lot these days 😁

... as opposed to giving dogs little boys' names. Some years ago we adopted a dog called Ben. He was too traumatised to change his name, but our DSs had several friends with the same name!

We have had Tim, Joshua, Luke, Holly, Lucy and William amongst past cats names!

Gem - that should have resulted in some interesting conversations. "Tim, don't climb on the curtains, Lucy, stop clawing at my legs" etc.

William was very naughty. "William come down from the curtains" was often heard 😁

Daisy when my 2nd son was born we couldn't agree on a name for him, just 2 weeks before he arrived I watched an interview with Wendy Craig and she was talking about one of her sons called Ross, thats it said I to my hubby and he agreed, when little one was born he had the usual Evans "ginger hair fluff" and when my eldest son came into see him all wrapped up in his crib at the nursing home he asked what his name was his daddy said he is called Ross and eldest son replyed "oh like the fish finger" and every time after they had gone and I looked in the crib all I saw was a "fish finger" looking back at me so the process of choosing a new name began again,it was the time when the registrar came to the nursing home to do the paperwork so we had to get a move on,neither of us wanted a name which could be shortened and went through all of them including Benjamin which OH said would be shortened to Ben a name which I liked so to be different we spelt it Benn,Daisy that year 1982 Benn came top of the list in the most popular dog names and Michael sang about his pet rat Ben.
I eventually got my Ross by way of my 4th DGS his mother my DD had always loved the name and was determined to call this special boy Ross.

I like the name Ross. When my DD was born we both thought it was going to be a boy again as my mother only had GSs and when the nurse said a girl we had no names to give her, it took 10 days to agree on a name. DD was the first and only GD in 13.

My mum thought I would be a boy as all recent cousins born before me had been boys (although I had older girl cousins) So convinced was she that she had the boys name written in narrow blue ribbon on my pillows!!!
She said dad could choose the name in the unlikely event of the baby being a girl. I am ever grateful that he chose a nice name for me!

Glamm - that is so funny. I can just imagine you looking at your sweet little lad and 'seeing' a fish finger! Not quite as bad as the Rise and Fall of Reginald Perrin comedy series where Leonard Rossiter 'saw' his MIL as a hippopotamus!! I'm glad you got a Ross in the family in the end - it's a nice name.

Plant - that's a lot of boys in one family!

Gem - I wonder what name your mum would have chosen for you.

Gem - it could have been a lot worse than Tony!
