Our village in the news tonight

As you know we live in a quiet holiday village where nothing ever happens.

Until today. There has been a murder in the village. My friend, M, went into the veg shop this afternoon, and there were police, ambulances etc all over the place. It was in the flat over one of the shops, and seems to be 'domestic'.

Officers responded to a call in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst, where a man died at the scene.

Oh dear, how sad. Always seems so much worse when these things happen so near to home.

Ooh crumbs Daisy. It’s hard to imagine what drives people to commit such crimes.

            Oh dear

We never think these things will happen in our neighbourhood do we?
Years ago, when I lived in town, two people were murdered a couple of minutes walk away, in a first floor flat. It turned out to be drug related. it was gruesome as when the owners opened up the cafe below next morning blood had seeped through. The cafe was closed for ages. It is a different cafe now, but I doubt any of us who remember the case would go in there.

Gem - how awful, in every way.

I always feel sorry for small businesses that get caught up in dreadful news stories. Salisbury particularly comes to mind at the moment.

We once bought a house from a widow whose husband had committed suicide in the garage. She was very honest and told us before we bought, which was a good job, because the first morning the milkman regaled my mum with the information. It was incredibly sad, but I never felt any bad 'vibes'.

Glamm - it's frightening, isn't it. It seems people have no respect for other people and there's so much envy and greed, which is what I think fuels a lot of the street assaults etc.

There's been no more 'official' news except that a man has been questioned. It's very sad.
