Football team and coach found alive after 9 days

OH and I had been wondering about this story of the group of teenagers and their football coach lost on caving trip. The night before we returned from our holiday I read online that they were found! All alive and safe, but very hungry. Two British men had found them, after 9 days. It will take a while to safely rescue them all apparently, but food is being got to them, and at least they know everyone knows where they are, and their families know their loved ones are alive.
Hopefully all with go smoothly with getting them all out. Monsoon season makes it a difficult task.

Divers have found the 12 boys trapped in a cave network but may have to wait months for the end of the monsoon season to be freed

Very brave English divers found them but not sure how long they will have to stay there before they can risk a rescue. they are very weak.

Must have been amazing when they finally saw the rescuers lights , doesn't look like they will get out soon but they are getting food and water and contact with other divers ,
I read two DR's have volunteered to stay with them till they get out

i heard it could be October, before they are rescued.
Apparantly, they have been given 4 months supply of food.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

What a truly awful situation. I heard that they were also considering teaching them how to dive. Poor things. It must be terrifying for them.

Scared to death I would imagine ,
Just heard they hoping to get them out using two divers each in case the cave fills with water during the monsoon

Four months!! I must have missed that on the news how awful for them if they have to wait that long, how brave are those two men who have found them they are certainly very brave indeed.
The families must be so relieved they have been found I hope things go well for them all.

It sounds as though it's going to be really difficult to get them out, but wisely they are taking to time to think about it and looking at all options.

Their familieis must be so relieved that they are ok, but dreadfully worried about the rescue.

They could get out by wearing diving masks and equipment. Apparently, understandably, this would be hard enough for an adult who had never done it before. Some of these boys are only 11 or 12, I think the oldest is 16. They would have to do the swim in the dark too, it seems too difficult task, but it is being considered.

It has been said that they are too weak atm to attempt a rescue.

And also that they can't swim, let alone use scuba diving equipment.

So far the weather has been kind, so I hope it stays that way and they can pump enough water out to get them home safely.

Plant - this morning's news said that one of the team in the rescue operation has died. I think it said he was an ex Thai-Navy diver. Ironically he was delivering oxygen to the boys and his own tank ran out on the way out of the caves and his dive buddy was unable to revive him or get him out fast enough. They are such brave men.
