I wasn't shocked at the mugging as its happening more and more now ,
I was more shocked they attacked knowing a child was in the car or did they think it would be easier as his natural instinct would to give anything to protect his child .
Law and order is going to the wall , but how do the courts deal with these thugs ?
Bigger fines ? they not bothered about that ,
Longer Jail sentence ? they not bothered about that either they learn how to commit more crime from other inmates ,

I know it sounds harsh but maybe some sort of chain gang work or compulsory Army training , I don't know the answer but something has to be done ,

Knives and guns and beating old people up is all you hear on the news now its scary ,

The poor child must have been terrified these thugs are not frightened of The Police on little bit imo,The Police are now forbidden to chase them on these bikes as the muggers do not wear helmets and they could be killed in a Police chase (shame) or possibly a member of the public caught up in the chase.
Oma I fully agree with you but my son (ex Military) says that the Army would not tolerate them as they would be a liability and serving soldiers would not put up with them,he suggested a Prison run on the way Colchester Barracks are run and governed by ex-paras who would stand no messing about from them.

I mean a type of Army camp Glamm as you say run by ex-paras that's a excellent idea in my opinion , frighten the life out of them and no treating them like little darlings , make them work bloody hard

It's awful that you can just be sitting in your car, minding your own business and get attacked like this.

It seems respect for people and property is non-existent in some places. I don't know what the answer is - there's probably no one 'golden bullet' but it needs a co-ordinated plan, everything from educating children to have more respect and teaching the next generation of parents how to bring up their children to be good members of society, deterrents for those who commit this type of thuggery, effective punishments when deterrents fail and rehabilitation for offenders.

I think there's a point (probably teenage/early 20s) where an Army-style institution run by experts like the ex-paras can work to turn young offenders round, give them skills and something to aim for - even if it's just stopping them going back to crime.

But it's a huge job, needing a lot of money, a lot of the right kind of expert help and a national will to support it.
