    What is your title?

What do your grandchildren call you? I have made a poll, just for fun.
I have allowed more than one choice, in case there are any of us who are known by different names by different sets of grandchildren!

I get called Nannan. It was my choice.

The first time i was pregnant,MIL said, what will he/she call me.
I said i thought he/she would call you Nannan. That's OK she said, i didn't want to be called Granny/Grannie.
She said that title always made her think of a little old lady sat in rocking chair.
Our eldest 49 this year, still calls her Nannan.
Our youngest46 this year now calls her Gran.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

'Apologies ladies! When I look back I had missed one out. Nanna, or Nana is a popular one, I have now added it. I didn't mean to leave it out!

My first GC couldn't say Grandma (which I chose) & it came out as Mamar. I'm that to all my gorgeous GC & love it.

Aww, lovely. It turns out that the other Grandma wanted to be called Mamar. I didn't know it was another well known name for Grandma.

I am another Grandma. My GPs were Granny and grandad. As my mother and paternal gran were at loggerheads my Mum didn’t want the same title and was therefore Nanny but both sides had their cars added by my nephew, hence Nanny Anglia and Nanny Volkswag!

                  LOL, Shem!

When my ex husbands nephew was born, both grandmothers wanted to be known and Nanny. To avoid confusion he called one 'Nanny Pippi' (Pippi was the dog) The other was 'Nanny A...K....' (my older 2 DDs's names!)

I am Grandma, my choice. Luckily GD and GS2's other gran wanted to be Gran, and GS1's other gran is Granny.
My mum was Nanna, as was her mum. My mum was thrilled to be able to keep the title as I didn't want it, so rather than great grandma she is Nanna to her GGC.

Grandma and also ‘old woman’ to one lot, and Nanma to the others. OH is Nanma John said with a French accent! We have absolutely no idea why as GS was very small when he said it.

Clover - I wouldn't like to try and guess that one!!!!!

I am Grandma DogDog. I wouldn't have chosen Grandma, and would have preferred Gran or Granny, but DIL1 decreed Grandma and at that time I didn't know her well enough to suggest anything else. Her mother opted for Nanny (which was fine by me) and her step-mother said she was happy being the Wicked Witch of the West, but I didn't feel able to offer my opinion! Not like me at all!!! The DogDog bit was added by DS1 as soon as he could talk - because we had 2 dogs! Somehow I also became GrandmaDogDog to DS2's children a few years later, which distinguished me from their other Grandma, who became Grandma Skype because she lived a long way away and that was how they communicated. Both names have stuck.

I really wanted to be Granny but DD said she just couldn’t call me that, having had 2 Nanny’s so that is what I am called. Other GM was Nanna. Dil’s Mother is Grandma and her mum is little Grandma .... because she is tiny. Both Grandads are just that Grandad but with their name added.

My my own children decided for some reason that my Mum was K’s Nanny and DH’s Mum was R’s Nanny,. They just decided one day and that was it and we still call them that after all these years and they are no longer with us.
