You and I feel the same way about the onset of Autumn leading to Winter Daisy!
I think most of our members do.
My mum loves autumn and I have one (strange!) friend who hates summer and loves winter!
I try to cope by seeing the beauty of the changing trees etc, but my overall feeling is sadness at saying goodbye to another summer and concern that winter may be bad!
Another coping method, which Daisy would not approve of, is thinking ahead to Christmas, the bright spot of winter“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Don't mind autumn, spring and summer are my favourite seasons , autumn can be pretty with warminsh afternoons , just perfect for a stroll along the country lanes near where we live. It's when we get to November, the clocks have just been set back and afternoons are cut short and it always seems foggy outside. I hate tdamp, dull ,foggy days .Bring me sunshine in your smile.

I think that's the problem, Mimi. Autumn can be quite pleasant, but there's that feeling that every single day is dragging you closer to the really dark days when it never seems to get properly light. I hate that, and constantly feeling cold. I know Gem and others get excited about that event in December and all the preparations, but to be honest I just want to hibernate! Or escape to the sun."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "

WG - I'm still wearing mostly summer clothes - I hate winter clothes as much as I hate winter! but I know at the end of last winter I was badly in need of a bit of wardrobe editing and replacement. I've got a much-loved cardigan which actually has holes in one elbow and OH - for the first time in 50 years - had said I should throw it away! But I can't until I can find a suitable replacement.
