Chocolate - eat it or keep it?

Can you have chocolate (and other sweets) in the house for ages and resist it? Or once it is there and opened do you eat it?

My middle daughter often has Christmas chocolate hanging around until Easter and beyond. I can still see several of the children's easter eggs remaining on top of a dresser when I go to their house!
My other daughters are more like me, if it is there is will be eaten within a fairly short time, certainly not running into weeks and months.

One reason apart from not being able to resist nice things like that once opened and around, is that chocolate won't taste as nice months later (that's my excuse anyway )

    No question....eat it . Once it's opened, that's it...and if it's there I open it!

I don't have much chocolate around to tempt me, we do not give chocolates as presents as a rule but once they are open I try to ration myself to two a day. Never buy chocolate in the supermarket I try not to look at it or I might be tempted. Sounds like I am a goody goody ha ha

Depends how I feel and how my Diabetes doing , I have a box of Hotel Chocolates my friend bought me for my Birthday I haven't even looked at yet and I know they are scrummy but I haven't a fancy , Now Fudge on the other hand I cant have in the house, I say I will only have one piece a day but its gone within a hour
I like Dark chocolate especially Green & Black's Cranberry or Ginger ,
We stopped buying GS1 chocolate for Christmas or Easter as its still there months later DD not a big chocolate lover so SIL ends up eating it all .
A while back my neighbour bought me a box of Thorntons Diabetic chocolate , it tasted like lard I would rather limit myself to normal chocolate than eat that .
My Brother eats any chocolate he sees no matter if its his or not he's always getting told off from his GC when they go to his house and he's raided the sweety cupboard hahaha

Once it's there I can't rest it. I start off rationing myself but that good intention usually flies out of the window.
I buy very dark chocolate for OH to have occasionally but I m not that fond of it so I'm not tempted I don't normally buy for myself.

Depends on the mood! We still have Lindt chocolate bunnies in the 'warren' (aka the sideboard!) since Easter! Can go for ages without fancying chocolate, but I do like licquorice toffees!!!Not so keen on the black tongue though!

Chocolate shouts at me from the fridge specially the dark chilli-cherry that I get in Aldi and Frys Chocolate Cream which is about in the shops again after being missing for a while.I can go without if none in the house but heaven forbid if I buy any in,my Diabetic Nurse would really tell me off if she found out I must act responsibly from now on.

Glamma I love that dark chilli cherry. Also love the almond chocolate from Lidl. I think I've trained myself quite well as we do have it in for the GD's and usually I can resist, but now and then I just FEEL like some and that's that!

We always have chocolate in the fridge. As we are chocoholics it doesn't last long.
After saying that our Christmas and Easter chocolates lasted a while, simply because we had so much in.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

WG, how can Lindt chocolate still be there from Easter??!It is my very favourite. I far prefer it to the more expensive Hotel Chocolat etc.

Easiest way to avoid temptation is to eat it all up as soon as it crosses the doorstep!

I'm odd about chocolate (ok, ok, and other things, I confess! )

We've always got chocolate in and I like it - mainly really dark and bitter - but I can quite happily eat just one square at night after dinner and ignore it the rest of the time. It's not will-power or anything, I just don't fancy it the rest of the time, but I'd be really upset if I couldn't have my evening choccy.
