    Well i never !!!

Before Christmas I bought new glasses , well I had my glasses re glazed , since then I have always felt something was wrong I felt my right eye was trying to focus on something ,
I thought maybe there was a small scratch although I had anti scratch coating on .
Today I asked Brian to clean them and as he held them up to the light he said these have writing on the lens , so I said what do you mean ?
There is a O and what looks like numbers he said
I couldn't see it but we have a watch makers eye glass magnifier ,so I had a look .
Sure enough on the right lens just off from the centre is a O and beneath 224
That's what my eye has been trying to focus on , I will be at Spec savers for them opening in the morning ...

Oh my goodness Oma,how strange. No wonder you've felt they weren't right. Be interesting to hear what Specsavers have to say.

It looks like its the marker points , B said maybe they forgot to polish it out , its not clear to normal sight just when magnified but my eyes must have been trying to focus on it

Disgraceful Oma, they should double check these things before the give them out!!

How odd! I'd be interested to know what it is, Oma! It sounds like part of a SKU number. Does it match part of the number inside one of the arms of your glasses?

I'm sure they'll be able to sort it out, but you're right, it shouldn't be there!

They do mark the lenses with a felt tip type pen. Sounds a bit odd

well been back and apparently its a new thing with them its the markers of the eye range that I had suspected and I shouldn't be able to see it ,well I can not plainly but I know its there , so they have slightly adjusted the lens and said that should solve it ,if it doesn't I have to take them back ,
I pointed out I have never had it on any of my other glasses and hubby got his at same time and his doesn't have it but her argument was his was a different type of lens , I will give them a go but if I'm not happy I want the lenses changing ,although she knew as soon as I said what it was and even pointed to the exact spots there were another 3 areas I hadn't noticed . Time will tell watch this space

Oh dear, maybe you will get used to it Oma, and if not they will have to replace the lens.

OH had to take her glasses back to Boots recently as she felt she could see far less well in them than the old ones! Her lenses were replaced and they are fine now.

Very strange that this topic should come up as I had problems with a prescription I had made up at Specsavers last time I was tested they said there was no problem and just a matter of getting usd to the new strength of the lens but I always thought there was a problem I had another test at a different Opticions and a very different strength was prescribed and since then everything has been fine for me,DD had problems with SS when DGS5 went for his yearly test they seem to be rushing through the tests I guess they have targets to meet and we get lost every now and then with customer service.

I personally wouldn't go to specsavers, we have an opticians nearby that is privately owned, have been going there for years so have most of the family.

I went to Specsavers for years, sometimes I was happy with my glasses, other times not, then after my cataract ops I didn't feel my new glasses were right and was retested at Boots and the prescription wasn't right. I have stuck with Boots since,
