My heart had bought it as soon as I saw it. I didn't need a test drive, but luckily it fitted me like a glove when I sat in the drivers seat, and it goes just where I want it to, too.
    I can't believe it's mine!
Sorry I shouldn't go on, but I've never been so frivolous, ever.
May be life does being at 60.

You go on as much as you like GJ
My life opened up and took on lots of new directions when I was 50. Something similar is happening to you now.
      Embrace it!

Grannyjules - that's wonderful. It's one very, very cute-looking car and in wonderful condition. I'm really delighted for you. I hope we get lots of good weather so you can have the top down. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!!!

I insured the car from yesterday just incase it was ready early. And it was, but to late in the day for me to collect it, as we had to take Ryan to his gymnastics class at the same time. It's a really good job I love that boy
But it was raining hard anyway.
Today we have had better than forcast sun shine all day
So we took my Mam along the seafront with the top down, getting the wind in her hair. We stopped for an ice cream, then posed a bit more before going home. LOL.
Oh we're really going to have fun in this car. Mam's got her headscarf ready and I've given her some big sunglasses. I've started calling her "Thelma" too

[QUOTE=grannyjules;n66746]Have any of you ever had a Peugeot 206 convertible? I've always fancied one but think they've stopped making them.
I came into some money from a not known about pension, lucky me! I'm thinking of doing something frivolous and getting one for over the Summer and for as long as it lasts. They're going for between £700-£1500 and I can get insurance for £150ish.
I've found it very hard to remember what my hopes and dreams ever where, if I had any, even. But this is the one thing that comes to mind. Feeling the wind in my hair as I race along, lol. Oh the FREEDOM! And it could now happen, if I had the nerve. It would be a total waste of money, but what fun!
It's been a long time since I had money of my own and my responsible side says I should put it in the "kitty", where my Hubby's money goes. I've never done anything that is totally for me, well not for 30 odd years. I dare hardly mention it.

I really need to sit in one to see how they feel, in case I don't like it. Has anybody been in one?
The neighbour over the road has one and I'm tempted to pop over and ask them about it, but we're only on nodding and waving terms.[/QUOTE

I had a second hand one, a managers demo which was 18 months old, it was lime green metallic paint with black leather seats, loved it. Then in 2005 I bought brand new to my own specification. I didn't know they had stopped making them. It was a beautiful car with black leather seats (heated although why you want heated seats in a convertible defeats me), automatic wipers, amazing stereo according to others (I am not great at listening to music in cars), and all sorts of snazzy stuff BUT the most beautiful car I have ever owned. I then had to have a company car and sold it to my dil and now it has just given up the ghost. I had to have a company car about a year after I got he new 206 because I couldn't fit everything in my "hairdressers car" as my boss called it. Broke my heart but have always been glad I had one. Mine cost almost £20k new but I sold it for about £4K about seven years ago. If you find one you can afford make sure the roof goes up and down with no noise. The roof is expensive if it needs attention. Also be aware that there is very little boot space and the two back seats are only for very very small people unless you have the roof down.

Sorry didn't read the whole thread, well done you. You can get what I call "hair savers" which do not cost a lot and sit on the back of the seat to stop your hair getting blown about. When I had mine my hair was very long and loose so it was well worth the money. I am not sure what they are really called but if you look on the web site I am sure it will tell you. ENjoy your new car, I loved mine, made me feel dead sexy.......
