    Omg what a long day

Today has been a nightmare ,
We set out at 7.50am to go to the Hospital 10 miles away didn't arrive till 9.15am , major road works meant traffic crawled along nose to tail .
Got there and Clinic was running late so didn't see Dr till 10.30 am from there had to go to the ward for the treatment this was 11oclock , treatment wasn't ready so they set everything up waiting for Pharmacy to make it up and deliver to ward 1.35 pm it turned up and it was a 3 hour transfusion . by then the Dr who was starting it off had gone for lunch so didn't start till 2pm , cant blame the Dr he needs to eat , 5pm it finished then a 10 minute flush through and had to sit for 30 mins make sure he was ok as its very strong and can cause him to feel a bit wobbly , came out and got stuck in traffic again , not so bad this time though , we have just arrived home at 6.10 , I have bunged sausages in the oven and peeled a couple of potatoes and put them in oven as wedges too , be around 7 before we eat and all we have had all day is a pk crisps each and a egg and cress sandwich between us , So very hot in there and sitting around all them hours we are worn out , my head has pounded all day , the nurse gave me some pain killers but it didn't help much I just tried to drink lots of water but even that was getting warm quick , but its done just got scan on Friday and fingers crossed a easy weekend

Pearl we got stuck on the Felling bypass we had no idea they were doing major works there and you know at the best of times is bedlam getting onto the Tyne bridge from there , we joined the tail back before Gateshead stadium and couldn't turn off anywhere , we didn't hear about the road works till we turned radio on ,all the busses are diverted for the next few weeks also , next week we will go through the Tyne tunnel but I bet everyone does that too

Oma - that sounds like the day from hell. No wonder you are both exhausted and your poor head is pounding. I hope you sleep well tonight and are ready to face the world again tomorrow. Big hug. xxx

Only just spotted this. Waiting in hot and airless hospitals is a nightmare. Glad you got a good nights sleep at least.
