What do you have for lunch?

Do you vary it, or have the same thing every day?

I often find it hard to know what to have for lunch at home, and sometimes just grab a bag of crisps, some fruit and a yogurt.

For years I had a regular lunch of humus, with pitta and celery, carrot, cucumber and red pepper sticks. .
I still have that, and often have homemade soup which will then last me for 3 days. Other days I have cheese and salad with crispbreads, eggs in some form with toast, and sometimes beans on toast.
I rarely make sandwiches for some reason but often have them when I am out for lunch!
What do you like for lunch?

I'm a great sandwich lover but I also like crisp bread with sandwich spread on and a yoghurt , sometimes tomato soup in a cup so I can drink it , I did for about a year have a bowl of lettuce ,tomatoes ,chicken ,sweetcorn salad .I was obsessed with it , I mean I had this every day . I do love Bagels with cream cheese and cherry tomatoes . As a treat now and again I will do a bacon sandwich , I don't make them very often because I love them so much if I didn't discipline myself I would eat them everyday 😊

I once had salad-every-day phase Oma! It was when I was working and I took it with me in a tupperware. Cooked pasta, with some grated cheese or chicken, ham or tuna and tons of salad veg with a bit of mayonnaise I loved it. I still do actually if I can be bothered to cook and cool the pasta!

These past few years now that myself and OH are generally home at lunchtime I tend to do a cooked lunch . This works better for me as I have an hiatus hernia and it's far better to eat a cooked meal earlier in the day rather than evening time. We usually have a cup of tea and some crackers or sandwich whilst watching the Chase !

I have nothing. I sometimes have a hot chocolate in the morning but I will usually go all day these days without eating. Sometimes I will have a throat pastille to give my mouth a change of taste. I find that eating at lunchtime, especially if I am working, sets off my IBS. I did try brioche chocolate things, I tried cereal (very bad for tummy), I cannot face toast in the morning at all. If I had lunch I would not be able to eat later however small the amount. I did have two quarters of sandwiches today as I had organised a "Lunch and Learn" for a charity at one of my sites. Now I feel quite full. I know it is not healthy but I could not face breakfast lunch and dinner.

That works obviously for you Zizi! I have to have my 3 meals a day, although my figure would benefit for skipping a meal or 2

Mimi, I can see the attraction of a midday cooked meal, especially getting the cooking and clearing up over with earlier in the day!

Since hubby retired 10 years ago,we have our main meal at lunchtime. I hate cooking and like to get it over and done with.
We always have breakfast, usually a few cereals and a slice of toast.
Around 7.30 pm, we will have a sandwich or soup. if hubby fancies beans or tomatoes on toast in the evening,i will usually just have toast.
Sometimes we will have boiled eggs.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

I always have either cereal or toast for breakfast . i have no choice i must with my Diabetes tablets , light lunch then main meal at 5pm again because of my diabetes tablets i must eat each time i take them . about 7pm we will have a cup of tea and sometimes a biscuit .
My DD can go all day without eating and i always know when she hasnt as her breath smells of stomach acid so she gets a telling off from me as her Dr told her its going to cause a ulcer if she isnt careful , she tends to only skip meals at a weekend , her staff make sure she eats at work s they know she has a problem with her stomach and are always bringing her little treats , she had a nasty episode a few years ago at work she was doubled up with stomach pains and heartburn when she hadnt ate for about 18 hours , one of her staff took her to the drop in centre and she got a very stern lecture from the Dr there telling her how she was very silly not eating regular meals and they gave her some medicine and wouldnt let her leave till she ate a sandwich

I am not a breakfast person, I have a whim when I fancy some special k. Usually lunch is marmite on 1 slice of toast or a ham sandwich and a piece of fruit, our main meal is 6pm. I find it hard to face breakfast most days.

I'm not keen on breakfast - certainly not if I have to eat it before 10 am. Since getting the Nutribullet I often have a smoothie but sometimes I have muesli or granola with blueberries and yoghurt. If we are both at home, we usually have a cheese sandwich at lunchtime, with crisps and fruit. I'm not a great sandwich lover though, and one slice of bread is more than enough. We have our main meal in the evening, but just occasionally I cook at lunch-time. I ought to do it more often because it's lovely not having to cook in the evening when I'm tired.

I have to have a cup of tea first thing, then some cereal with nuts and blueberries and then another cup of tea. I can't eat cooked breakfast. I usually have soup for lunch, perhaps a salad in the summer then I cook my dinner at 6.00, usually fish or very lean meat and lots of veg, no pots or puds.

When I first get up of a morning my lovely man always has a cup of tea waiting for me in the kitchen whilst I log on to see what is happening in the world,I then get through 2 further cups of coffee before having maybe toast/crumpets/muffins and its off to work,at lunch time I will grab a sandwich from Greggs or M&S with maybe a banana/handful of strawberries which we always have in the fridge at work.We eat our main meal about 7pm usually a meat dish/curry/or fish thats me done for the day I don't bother with supper but OH maybe will have crackers & cheese.

Oh dear! I think Elisi's 'as little as possible' should be stuck in large letters, underlined, on our fridge door!

Breakfast maybe eggs (fresh from our chickens) to toast and homemade marmalade or marmite, occasionally the full English. Lunch maybe a sandwich, salad, homemade soup or something on toast and I cook a dinner at about 6 pm. We don't always have a desert, sometimes we just have chocolate!
