Sprouts and Marmite - love 'em or hate 'em?!

These two food items seem to provoke strong feelings of like or dislike. What is your opinion on them?
I love both. Most of my family love sprouts, myself, OH, my mum and SIL2 being the biggest fans! I know many people who force two down on Christmas Day, just because it is traditional

I like both. DD does lovely sprouts for Christmas, with crispy bacon bits and chestnuts, yummy. I have always loved marmite, lovely on thickly buttered toast.

bbc iPlayer supermarket secrets episode 3 - really interesting programme and about 8 minutes in there is an item about sprouts. We all assume that the Christmas food will be there when we want it but the logistics are quite staggering.

i like sprouts and they would probably be one of my first choice of vegetables. I also like marmite but spread very thinly. Was quite amazed when I saw my FIL to be layer it on very thickly- yuk!

I like both but sprouts mustn't be overdone and Marmite not too thick. Fussy aren't I?

Husband loves marmite. I can take it or leave it. I love sprouts. I don't like them mushy but I don't like them hard so when I cook them I wait until they are just getting a little bit soft on the outside and then turn them off and leave them in the water until it cools a little and then take them out, that way I usually get them almost perfect. I like to put proper unsalted butter on them with lots of freshly ground pepper.

Not fond of marmite. Sprouts, we have 2 or 3 with a meal, but thats all. I don't like them overdone.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Love them both. Especially Marmite on buttered toast with a liberal spreading of crunchy peanut butter on top.I have this for breakfast most mornings and a smoothie.

Sprouts are ok. I quite like them as long as they're not boiled into a grey mush (Aggie's mum and mine must have gone to the same cookery school!) There are some new varieties of sprouts coming on to the market which haven't got that rather bitter 'boiled cabbage' smell or taste. I'm quite keen to grow some on the allotment next year.

Now Marmite - that's the real deal. Love it!

To stop the boiled cabbage smell you should put a pinch of salt and a pinch of sugar in the water as it comes to the boil. I don't know how I know that but it works honest.
