Do you ever forget how do do something you do every day ? I came on hear and I went to reply to Gems thread and for the life of me couldn't remember how 😲 took me a good 5 mins before my brain clicked into gear , I know I have had a house full but they didn't fry my brain that much 😊 I really had to just sit hear and wait 😩

Oma - funny you should say that. I've just been on a photo sharing site I've used for about 8 years and couldn't remember how to do something on it! A few days ago I couldn't remember how much dried yeast to put in a loaf of bread - and I make bread at least a couple of times a week!

I think that sometimes our brains, and lives are full of so much , we just plain forget things we know how do to perfectly well!

Gemini is spot on, I have done the same. Stood there scratching my head as I can't remember how to do something I've done a 100 times before.

Hehehe - I think it's more like a short-circuit in my little noddle!

Me too. Especially with recipes, can never remember the quantities even with things I make all the time.

I remember cake recipes provided the ingredients are in lbs. and ounces but can never remember the time it takes to cook or the temperature however hard I try. I now have a list of cakes that I make regularly with just the oven temperature and time printed next to the name. I have to refer to it every time.

The family will tell you that I have a blockage when it comes to days and dates and even if it is on the calendar. I am okay with birthday dates. This is nothing new though, I could never remember what dates we moved, I used to have to ask OH. It is quite a joke with family and friends.

I'm so glad others have the same problem I thought I was going "do lally pip" I sometimes stop mid sentence and regroup so I can remember what I am talking about,by the time I remember the topic has changed to something else !!!

I totally blanked on my PIN number for debit card when I was paying at a till. Luckily I had enough cash to cover the item. The number suddenly came back to me but it took a couple of weeks. I did have it written down somewhere but couldn't remember where!

Shem - I've lost so many things I've put in a 'safe place' that now I say very firmly to myself "now, Daisy, you must remember that this (important item) is in (where ever I've put it).

                          It doesn't help - I still can't remember!!!

I have on line Sainsbury delivery every week and gave up on Tesco after a row with their customer services but recently I have popped in there a couple of times for odd things. I also have a lot of Tesco reward vouchers so when Joe asked for something specific for Christmas I ordered it on click and collect from Tesco. So I got a message telling me it was ready and I set off to collect it. I got there, parked, signed in the scan thing, bought a couple of books for the children, some milk, bottle of juice, got back in he car and went home. Completely forgot about the game I went in there to collect until I was putting the juice away and saw a post it on my fridge about the order! That was last Thursday. Yesterday I went out for my normal bakers, butchers, greengrocer run and it was only when I felt peckish and went to make a sandwich that I realised I had forgotten to go to the bakers!

The times I go into a room and have forgotten what I am there for are limitless........
