    Thought For The Day

As I try - not for the first time - to get into the wrong car in the supermarket carpark, DH remarks, "How come you can spot the tiniest spider a thousand yards away but cannot find our car?" He's right too

    LOL, BL!

One day recently I parked my car quickly in the village, as I was on my way out somewhere but had to collect something from a local shop on the way. When I walked back to the car, I was silently berating myself for parking so close to the corner. Then I was wondering why although I was pressing my key fob, the car lights were not flashing. It turns out my car was 3 cars ahead, not on a corner, but just where I left it
In my defence it was the same model and colour!

Spiders are more interesting, that's why!!!! There are so many different species, and they do clever things like spin webs.

BL - if I use OH's car, I can never find it in a car park. It looks like every other dark coloured car there, and I have to walk round zapping until one lights up!!! What's even more embarrassing is he's got a personalied number plate - which I can't remember!!!!

          HaaHaa Oma!!

My mum did the same thing a couple of years ago - but she's a lot older than you, with poor eyesight
I was parked outside mums local newsagent while she popped in. I glanced in my rearview mirror to see mum getting out of the car behind!! She said she had walked out of the shop and into the car. She looked down to put her purse away in her bag, and wondered why it wasn't there. Only then did she look across to see a completely unknown woman in the drivers seat!!!
          What are you two like?!!

My sister in law had a similar problem in a very large car park once, after which she tied a carrier bag to her aerial when in a car park.

GM - that's a good idea. The first time we went to a Disney park in America we wondered why there were so many things tied to aerials. We found out the hard way when none of us could remember the numberplate of our rented car! Now if I go anywhere in a strange car I take a photo on my phone of the numberplate - just in case!

My OH and I experienced a similar thing at the Malvern Show some years ago. When we arrived there were only about 50 cars in the field, when we came out there were hundreds in two fields, we didn't even remember which field we were in. We walked around asking people what time they arrived and narrowed it down to one field. We were giving up and as we walked up to get a bus we spotted it. My friend has a little ball with ribbons on her aerial but so do a lot of others.

Funny you should say that Plant. After this post I imagined us telling relatives & friends about the carrier bag trick & then suddenly going to find our car in a sea of cars with carrier bags tied onto the aerials! 😱

Love these car stories, but I can't think of one to tell. Changing tack a bit, when our youngest was just a couple of days old, I took him with me when I went to the butchers. When I got home hubby says where is the baby, yes you've guessed it,i had left him outside the butchers.

Those were the days when you could leave a baby outside shops.

I have a history of getting into the wrong car starting the first time on my driving test. In my defence it was the same make and colour but had no L plates which the examiner pointed out to me with a rather exasperated expression. My car (with L plates) was just four cars further on. I did still pass - I tend to put that down to the mini-skirt though
I also climbed in beside a very confused man who was sitting in his car outside the vets one day. DH was sitting looking equally confused in the next space. Same colour but different model this time. I think what we really need is a purple car with big orange spots next time
