My family had shoe fitting specialists shops and my dad use dot say the same as Qwerty's post, that it meant the person hadn't paid for the shoes!

Shoes now returned and voucher given. I am not the first it transpires! Still, I am happy with the outcome. I will purchase a pair of winter shoes when I am I the mood.
