    Water lover or not?

Oma mentioned in Chat the other day that she is not comfortable in water (for swimming etc, she does have her showers! )

OH and I had just been chatting about my love of water, and how some people even if they are sporty are not comfortable in water.
My friend C used to go to aquafit classes with me a few years ago, but would never go out of her depth.

My aqua classes are popular and oversubscribed as I have posted before, so many people love it. Many go twice a week as I do, and some 3 or 4 times!
I love my aquafit classes and love to swim in the sea and open air heated pools. Not so keen indoor pools for swimming and certainly not in cold water!

My friend D recently completed a swim for charity, over a few weeks. It was outdoor and by the end it was very cold! I congratulated her and said I loved swimming in warm seas and couldn't do what she did. She said no way would she swim in open sea, she's not confident enough for that, so we are all different.

Are you a water baby , or do you like your feet firmly on dry land?!

Gem, I'm definitely a water baby. I've always loved being in water - everything from a bath or shower to indoor and outdoor pools, the sea, rivers and even lakes.

I swam in the sea in August this year and although it was chilly to get in it was ok. I think I would find lakes and rivers too cold now. I would love to be one of those people who do wild swimming all year round, but couldn't cope with the cold.

Sadly I've rather got out of the habit of regular swimming over the last few years, but promise myself I will start again.

I could never ever go in a river or pond or Lake.
At the seaside I can only go in ankle deep, if I can't see my feet that's it I'm out.

The shower is as much as I can take or a nice bath but even then not a deep bath.
Im not fat just 6ft too small

I only learned to swim when my eldest DS1 was learning, he was 4 years old then, I decided it would be better if I learned to swim, DS2 learned very early so we spent our holidays at the outdoor pool, there is so much water here so important to swim. I do like the pools, no open water for me.

Daisy, DD3 keeps trying to encourage me to go to a wild swimming lake they go to. I think it would have to be a heatwave for me to even consider it!

I haven’t swum for years and even then wouldn’t go out of my depth and too scared to put my face under water! 🙁

I loved swimming, Learned to swim in the Thames and the pool with my school. Too nervous to swim in the sea.

I don't like being in water.
Like Oma, i've paddled ankle deep and thats as far as i go.

I don't mind being on water. Done loads of cruises.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

I don't mind putting my face under water in a pool, but not so keen in a lake or river. The sea depends on which sea. There was too much seaweed around in Swanage to put my face under water there this summer. I don't mind in the Med or the Caribbean, and like snorkelling.

Nanto I've never done a proper cruise, but the cruise ships are so huge you don't really feel the water is a threat, I'm sure.

Plant, it must have been fun swimming in the Thames. Whereabouts - in the upper reaches?
