Amazing crossing yesterday, sunny and calm all the way. Everyone eventually arrived, children very excited, H was so pleased her cousins arrived. DD quickly made 2 Shepherds Pies (5 veggies 7 non- veggies. Lovely evening, we ate in the garden. Wine was consumed. House I am staying in with GD 2 and her OH is typically french, just managed to sort things out. GD and her partner (I will call him O) went to the bakery for pastries for breakfast. We shall move and join the others soon. A beach day was suggested. With the help of O I shall endeavour to post a pic of the main house.

The family had a lovely time on a beautiful beach, I just sat under an umbrella in the shade. O has just gone to the bakers for breakfast, he said it is already hot. We had a lovely BBQ in the garden yesterday evening, wine was taken. Our supermarket shops are enormous. Living in a separate house with GD and her lovely partner means we have a quiet start to the day, whereas in the main house it will be very busy. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

It looked like being very hot here again today but it is more cloudy and windy. The family have gone to the beach, I am staying at the house. I picked up a bit too much sun yesterday even though I sat in the shade all day. My Sil bought the children a large inflatable pool so they were in and out of that yesterday. H is having a lovely time with her cousins and it is a delight to have the four month old baby with us. Menus have been made, couples are taking it in turns to cook the evening meal so it doesnβt always fall on DD. It is usually a help yourself lunch. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

We have been to a knitted exhibition knitted by British ladies of the D day landings. It was exhibited in a church near to the beach where the D day landings took place. It is going to be touring Gt. Britain, if it comes your way I recommend you visit it if you can. The. Younger family have stopped on the way back to visit a playground to tire them out. Not sure who is cooking tonight, I know it is not me.What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Plant, it's lovely to hear your day by day activities. It's surprising how you can get too much sun, even in the shade, and I'm sure you're being diligent with the Factor 50, but do take care.
The knitted exhibition sounds interesting, and it's good to hear it's going to tour the UK as well.
I bet all the children are sleeping like logs evry night with all the excitement, sun and playing on the beach."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "
