It depends what time of day we get home.If it is very late, the mail and suitcases get left until the next day. Putting clean bedding on before we go,is a must.

We are all keen on fresh bedding and towels, and YES, this is also a must for me! Even if we have an early flight and up at 3 am I will change the bedding and put our fresh towels for our return.

We got home last Thursday and hubs had the kettle on in the blink of an eye to make our 1st decent cuppa in a week.I got the first load of washing straight in the washer.I cannot rest until I know it's all unpacked laundered and cases etc put away.Changed our bed the day before we left and changed towels.We both had a wander around the garden, we had a very bad thunder/lighting/hail storm apparently and the raspberries took a battering.But worse the roof of our little lobby which houses the fridge freezer/tumble drier and chest freezer took a bad hammering as well.It is only a polycarbonate roof but was renewed only 2 years ago.Hubs has patced it for now but will need replacing, blooming holes from the hail. Matt said they were big stones and the worst thunder & lighting he had ever seen.Thank goodness the electrics weren't affected."What doesn't kill us,makes us stronger."Comment

I'm very impressed with all those who empty their cases and get the washing on straight away. I only finished unpacking yesterday, which is 10 days since we got home. I opened the cases and took out things like toilet bags and dirty washing, which I sorted into 3 piles to do as and when, the day we got home, but I just left the other stuff in the cases on the spare beds in my study. OH will eventually get round to putting the cases back in the loft - I expect! I hold my head high - my Mucky Trollop status is untarnished!!!!!

It has never occurred to me to change the bedding before going on holiday! First thing I do is make a cup of tea, then take out all unworn clothes and hang them up. Leave the rest to be sorted over the next few days. When we pack to come home the dirty washing goes in one case and the unused clothes in another.xxComment

I don't change the bed immediately before we leave for a holiday, but I do try to do it the day before. Same with towels.

Well it is usually because we love to sink in, exhausted to clean sheets after a shower with clean towels! Just a THING I have.

Elisi - I think that's a very desirable THING to have, but I'm always in such a rush before I go away I know I can't leave things like that until the day of departure, especially if it's a 5 am start to get to Heathrow or Gatwick!
