What's the first thing you do ...

when you get home from a holiday, a day out or just a trip to the supermarket?

I bet most of us put the kettle on!!

I place a Tesco order before I go, so it's not shopping!

Very first thing is locate all the cats. Then make a cuppa, then look at the post, and in summer check the garden!

Hmm, I didn't read your question properly Daisy!

Yes, if it's not as long as a holiday, I don't locate the cats, but I do put the kettle on

Go and take a long look in the magnifying mirror to pluck out all the stray chin hairs which have somehow taken on a life of their own while I've been away and if not dealt with I will be taken away and burnt as a witch

Now we do not have a cat boss any more I don't have to toady to him so I quickly skim to the mail. Check the bank accounts. Run a bath for myself. Get the washing out of the suitcases. Have a large glass of my five a day.

I cannot wait to go on holiday in November. Well that is at the moment I cannot wait. I will let you know what he has chosen and my opinion when the time comes. At least August is Newcastle and then central London (hopefully somewhere exceedingly luxurious or he is in trouble). The November holiday is my escape from my secondment. I am putting all my confidence in my lovely husband.

Coming home from holiday or shopping, we put the kettle on first.

We always change the sheets and duvet cover etc before we go on holiday so when we come back we can get in a nice clean, home smelling bed. Sounds daft I know but I also ditch the existing towels before we go on hols and get new ones out when we come back.

Yes I think my house is the tidiest and cleanest its ever been the night before our holidays, fresh bedding, clean towels washed floors etc, then would usually get DS or close family member get you milk and bread etc for when we get back...

When I get back from holiday, the first thing I do is to have a quick look at the mail, then have a walk around the garden. Oh would unpack his case first but mine is usually done the next day.
