    What would you do?

Our neighbours in the adjoining house to our semi, C and S are a lovely young couple. Friendly and always happy to help if we need them. They looked after OH's football table for me and C brought it round on Christmas Eve. S is from Singapore and hasn't seen her family since before the pandemic. They are going over for a month and have asked us to feed their 2 cats. Last time C's mum housesat for them. I presume she is unwilling or unable to this time.
They have asked us and we have said yes. It's next door and they only need twice daily feeding, no litter trays.

They are so grateful and want to pay us. They were looking into house sitters and say we will save them hundreds of pounds.
We don't want paying and have told them so. They say they insist.
So..... I said we would have a think.

It's obvious we will have to accept something. I wondered about an afternoon tea voucher or something like that. OH thinks its's a good idea.
    Any other suggestions?!

That’s a good choice Gem or maybe a little tree or bush for your garden .
I know you don’t want paying but they will feel better getting you something so accept it for their sake 😁

Gem, a voucher sounds like a good idea. GD2 cares for 2 cats when the neighbours go to their caravan, all she does is see that they have food and water, she was telling me how much she earns!!! She baby sits for the same family as well.

How about asking them to make a donation to a charity, the Cats protection league seems to be appropriate perhaps?

I was going to suggest the same as Mimi. A donation to a charity satisfies their honour - and either a cat rescue charity or something related to Singapore.

I also like the idea of something to plant into your garden, or an afternoon tea voucher are all good ideas.
