    How Often...

How often do you weigh yourself? Every morning? Once a week? Monthly? Only on a medical check at the doctor's? Never? Hate scales always avoid them?

I never get weighed at home.I can tell when I have lost/gained weight.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

We have scales in the bathroom which OH uses almost every day, if I am feeling brave enough I might pop on them but only if I take my glasses off, that way I can't read the numbers very well . Completely crazy I know ! 😜😜😜

I have scales but rarely use them. Last time got weighed was at the doctors. I know I should lose weight but I don't want to be reminded every single day!!

When I have been on a diet I weighed myself every day either for pleasure or a slapped wrist.

Similar to Qwerty and Plant, when on a diet I'm always wanting to weigh myself! When not, I pretend I have no scales!

Don't even own any , I get weighed when I go to see practice nurse once a year for my Diabetic check . a few yrs ago well about 5 yrs ago I lost a load of weight I was doing step aerobics and yoga 3 hours a day I became a bit obsessed with it and every time I went into bathroom a stepped on them , Brian put them in the bin I did this for two yrs till my knees objected and gave away ,
I know by the fit of my clothes if I have put on or lost that's good enough for me now

Im not fat just 6ft too small

I've got scales but tend not to use them. I rely on clothes getting tight and then I do something about it.....well sometimes, depending on how tight they are!

I weight myself most days, with the aim of either being the same and yesterday or a bit less. If it's bad news and I'm heavier I have a 'diet' day, if possible. Today is one of those days!

Exactly the same as me Daisy. I climb on the scales most mornings on the way to the shower and then feel smug if I weigh the same or less than yesterday and if not then I start to think about eating a little less and exercising a little more. It seems amazing just how much weight I can pile on in just 24 hours and how little seems to want to get off again whatever I do to try to shift it. I have to watch it otherwise I would pile it on in no time. I must post something on the favourite meal thread as talking about eating doesn't make you fat right???

I'm the same Daisy and Lizzy.
Absolutely right Lizzy no calories in talking about food. Shame it makes me feel like eating though!

I desperately want to loose weight, with my upcoming holiday, I know if I don't it will spoil it, I know it shouldn't and your only live once but it does, at the minute my scales are gathering dust because I know and feel like im putting weight on, don't need the scales to tell me....never mind started my diet "properly" tomorrow.................again.......

I don't ever weigh myself, it is a suicide mission I feel dreadful seeing what I weigh which is a good 3 stone over my once slim size 10 body, not that many years ago I have such trouble losing it I have to go down to 1000 calories a day for months. Very hard. I'm on that now and it is OK as you get used to it and M&S do these marvellous Count on Us meals which means you have WW points and also calorie controlled, and I just add veggies and salad. I try not to drink alcohol but that falls by the wayside at least twice a week!

If my clothes don't fit, and photos look awful (as they did recently) I know I have to do something fast to get back to a 14. Which is now as low as I can go as the weight will not shift off any more even if I starve!

I watched this programme a couple of years ago (DS1 sent me and DH the link) http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01lxyzc
it is about the "fast diet" which talks a lot about the health benefits as much as the weight loss. We both went on it for almost a year and did the alternate day version rather than the 5/2 and found it okay once we got going. DH lost three stone and I lost a bit less than that. The thing that it did for me was make me aware of calories and fat and nasty bad stuff. So now I just try not to eat too much of the nasty bad stuff although I have just had two Hotel Chocolat amoretto truffles - but that was a moment of weakness. I will try harder tomorrow P.S. Quite an interesting programme even if you don't want to lose weight.
