    Our new home

We have settled quite well into our bungalow.
I have to admit yesterday I did think we had made a huge mistake. OH was in a foul mood as everything he attempted to do went horribly wrong . It started early yesterday morning after the Sky engineer had been . Because of covid he wasn't able to come inside so after he had put up a new Sky dish he needed to connect the cable to the sky box which entailed me having to screw two connectors to the box . Easier said than done with arthritic fingers so I had to get OH to do it and it's there where it all went pear shaped . The engineer over estimated how much cable we needed which rubbed OH up the wrong way, he hates cables curling around in a corner!
BT has let us down ( no surprises there). We just have an emergency mini hub they sent us till the new hub arrives. The mini hub isn't strong enough for Sky to log on to .

Today has been a much better day .We popped to the coop, just 4 mins walk away, for some flowers and then went to the cemetery 5 mins walk in the other direction . After that on the way home we collected our repeat prescriptions and then we came home for a coffee.
Where we used to live that would have taken all day .
Our new dining table and chairs are arriving tomorrow but the matching sideboard isn't in stock at the moment but as soon as it is it will be delivered.

New neighbours brought some flowers around on Tuesday evening. My friend popped by on Monday with flowers.

We are loving the low level access shower.

We still have lots to do but we are getting there
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Mimi - how lovely to hear you are settling down so well.

I'm sure you were both tired yesterday, and I'm rather surprised the Sky man "couldn't" come in to connect your tv up because of Covid - other workmen are allowed to. If it's any consolation, when we had Sky installed the engineer put such a short lead on to the tv that we can only move it about an inch in either direction which means you can't move it to dust etc (Perhaps it's not such a bad idea after all!!!) I hope BT get your new hub to you asap. You wonder how they can get things so wrong, don't you!

It must have felt very liberating to do your shopping and other errands so quickly and easily - that's definitely a huge plus for your new home. It must be full of lovely fresh flowers by now - they certainly make a room feel welcoming and homely, don't they. Could you find all the vases you needed?

All the jobs that need doing can take their time once you've got the essentials sorted out, and hopefully with Spring on our doorsteps they will all be pleasant tasks.

Mimi, it sounds as though you are settling in straight away. Everything seems close by for you both. Have you just got the shower and no bath?

Great to hear today was better than yesterday! I had heard about Sky engineers not being able to access customer premises. So annoying. I’m in your OH’s camp, I hate unnecessary wires too.
How good of your neighbour to bring flowers, I bet it smells lovely in your house.
Everything will wait another day or more, so take it easy and enjoy your new surroundings.

So pleased you are settling in ,
All these teething troubles will settle and as Daisy said you would have both been tired ,

You can always get them to shorten the cable once you have everything else sorted ,

This time next week you will be comfy and sorted xxx

Settling in 'teething problems' are natural Mimi, and any new home is an adjustment. Moving is stressful too!
There are plenty of benefits to your new home, the nice neighbours being one

Very stressful time moving, especially when people let you down. Do you have much garden? Keep looking on the plus side for your move Mimi, it will all come right in the end.
